Hernandez won 10 races last week, tying for first place with Richard Eramia. He is also the current leading rider for the spring Churchill meet, with 16 wins since the meet opened earlier this month.

Hernandez had at least one win on every Churchill card last week and picked up four wins on Thursday, including three in a row to close out the card. His 10 wins came for six different trainers.

Among the highlights of his wins last week was a three-length win aboard Angaston ($69.00), the longest shot on the board in a five-furlong turf allowance on Thursday. He also won on favorite Awestruck ($5.40) by over six lengths.

In addition to his ten wins, Hernandez had one second-place finish, and seven third-place finishes in his 30 starts last week, maintaining a 33% win rate and landing in the money on 60% of his mounts.

He added $283,033 to his 2018 total of $2.1 million, and sixth among all North American jockeys by total earnings despite having no stakes victories for the week.

In 2018, Hernandez has won 44 races in 310 starts, with over 1,700 career victories. The Louisiana native was recognized with the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Apprentice Jockey in 2004.
