December 14 wasn’t a typical ‘day at the office’ for jockey Ashley Broussard.
The 24-year-old rider was on a hot streak, booting home six consecutive winners at Delta Downs Wednesday evening. Broussard was on such a roll, in fact, that one of those victories came via disqualification.
According to the Daily Racing Form, Broussard’s winning streak ran from the fourth through ninth races on the 10-race card. Broussard’s first win came aboard Randinsky. She then proceeded to take the fifth with Big Risque, the sixth with Drummer Boy, the seventh with Disturbing Behavior, the eighth with Jambalaya, and the ninth with Private Songster.
Broussard’s victory on Drummer Boy in the sixth race came via the disqualification of the winner, Dry Wood Creek.
The DRF reports that Broussard’s winners came for five different trainers, including two for trainer Karl Broberg.
