The Jacky Martin Award is presented to a Quarter Horse jockey for outstanding achievement during the year. Martin will go down in history as one of the greatest Quarter Horse jockeys of all time. He won seven runnings of the prestigious All American Futurity and compiled a record of nearly 3,000 wins and $46 million in mount earnings. He was named American Quarter Horse Association Champion Jockey twice and is a member of the Ruidoso Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Horse Racing Hall of Fame.

Ricky Ramirez’s racing career hit full stride in 2008 when he crossed the finish line first aboard Hearts Runaway in the New Mexican Springs Futurity-Gr. 1 at Sunland Park. But it was his status as first-call rider for Blane and Trey Wood that vaulted him to the elite level of Quarter Horse riding. He has won more than 80 stakes including 21 Grade 1’s and currently ranks 12th on the All-Time Money Earned list. He reached the 1,000 win milestone on May 19, 2017. He was a finalist this year for the Sam Thompson Memorial Award.
