Jockeys GuildJanuary 12, 2016 – The Jockeys’ Guild and will partner to honor these exceptional athletes with two new awards to be presented at the yearly Guild Assembly in February.

The awards will be voted on by representatives from America’s Best Racing, the Daily Racing Form, Equibase, the Jockeys’ Guild, the Paulick Report, the Thoroughbred Daily News, National Thoroughbred Racing Association, National Turf Writers and Broadcasters, Thoroughbred Racing Associations, and Turf Publicists of America.

The first of the two awards is for The Most Improved Rider for 2015. The voting panel will consider a number of factors including number of wins and earnings to ascertain which Jockey made the greatest overall improvement from the previous year of race riding.

The second of the two new honors will be for The Comeback Rider of The Year for the 2015 season. This award will be presented to the rider who achieved the most success last year while overcoming a previous injury, hardship or personal setback.

Each winner will be presented with these first-time honors at the Jockeys’ Guild Award Banquet on Tuesday, February 16 at Gulfstream Park.
