ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (August 6, 2017) – Arlington International Racecourse’s leading rider, Jose Valdivia, Jr. bagged five wins from seven races on Sunday’s live program.
Valdivia landed a cold Pick-3 to start the card, guiding Sophia Ali and Perry and Nancy Camodeca’s Lemon Grove ($4) to a win the day’s opener and followed that up with wins aboard Five Sons Racing and Kevin Marko’s Sunset Gables ($4.80) and Louie Roussel, III’s Chicago Blues ($5.40).
Valdivia found his way back to the winner’s circle just two races later with Tommy Ligon and Joseph Silich’s Moolamiss ($12.20) and then capped off the day with a win in the finale aboard Olympia Star, Inc.’s Arabella Bella ($5.20).
“I’m always going to be thankful to my agent for putting everything together – he’s the one that puts me on the stock,” Valdivia said. “I always feel like I’m loaded, and my instinct has always been to win a race, and I feel like the whole meet I’ve been sitting on live stock and they have been running accordingly. Trainers have had them ready, and when you have so much horse and so much confidence, things just happen to go your way. That’s what happened today.”
