Victorious in six of seven mounts on the day, Jareth Loveberry was voted Jockeys’ Guild Foundation Detox Jockey of the Week for Aug 3rd-Aug 9th. The award is voted on by a panel of experts for riding accomplishments by members of the Jockeys’ Guild, the organization which represents more than 950 riders in North America.

Upon relocating from Canterbury Park for the opening of Arlington Park’s Summer Meet, journeyman jockey Jareth Loveberry sits atop the rider’s standings by a commanding 13 wins. Taking over as the go to rider for Arlington’s leading trainer Larry Rivelli, Loveberry began his week on Thursday, Aug. 6th in dominant fashion, winning five in a row and six of his seven mounts.

Beginning the day on Thursday by taking the second half of the Daily Double aboard Rivelli trained Magic Man’s Touch, Loveberry returned in the third, an allowance optional claiming one mile turf event. Accepting the mount on the Wayne Catalano conditioned Room to Finish, the veteran rider showed his patience and confidence while positioning the five-year-old mare off the pace before finishing rapidly with a thrilling rally to just get up for the win.

Victorious aboard his next two mounts, securing a four bagger on the day, Loveberry continued his streak aboard Bizzee Channel in the day’s sixth, an allowance optional claimer going one mile on the turf. Guiding the four-year-old English Channel gelding to a decisive victory, returning $5.60 and making that five in a row.

Loveberry’s streak was ended with a second place finish in the seventh race before returning in the day’s finale for a come from behind victory aboard River Evangelist, recording his sixth victory of the day and fifth for Larry Rivelli.

Loveberry finished the week maintaining a 40% win percentage and in the money on 80% of his mounts. With eight wins, three seconds and five thirds, his earnings totaled $98,785.

He’s won 44 of 296 starts this year and 1,376 of 10,921 career mounts. In 2020, his mounts have earned $1,062,605 and his lifetime earnings exceed $23 million.
