Keeneland Press Release

Julio Garcia (rider of Bound for Nowhere)

“Wesley Ward gave me good instructions. I followed the 11 horse and waited for the straight, and the horse responded very good.”

Fernando De La Cruz (rider of runner-up Bucchero)

“He (broke) well. I got him in the right position, right where the trainer (Tim Glyshaw0 wanted him. I just got stuck behind two or three lengths, but coming down the home (stretch) we just took off.”

Irad Ortiz (rider of third-place finisher Disco Partner)

“I got a good trip into the turn. One (horse) stopped right in front of me so I had to check a little bit and go back in. I didn’t want to lose all that ground around the turn. He did well coming from a layoff – he’ll be all right. He made up some ground so I’m happy. I just tried to ride my race and forget everyone else; I’ve got a nice horse. I tried to ride my horse and take care of him, and at the same time try to win the race, but it didn’t come out like that. Next time.”

Jose Lezcano (rider of fourth-place finisher Commute)

“I got a very good trip. He got nervous inside the gate it took a long time over there. But I still got a very good trip. He just got a little tired in the end because the grass was deep.”
