Keeneland Press Release

Luis Contreras (winning rider)

“I got a really good trip and the horse helped me every step of the race. I had a horse coming inside of me – I just tried to keep my horse pretty confident and keep my spot. He gave me everything in the stretch.”

Corey Lanerie (rider of Limousine Liberal)

“I had a good trip. He broke a little slow, I was hoping to be sitting third on the outside, stalking, but he still put me in a good spot. I was sitting loaded the whole way. About the three-eighths pole, it opened up for me and I had the perfect trip. He might of gotten a little tired – he fought hard to try and get up. They actually passed him and he tried to get back up and get them.”

Brian Hernandez Jr. (rider of third-place finisher Awesome Saturday)

“We were third. Unfortunately, we thought we were winning turning for horse. My horse, he ran his race; he just got outgamed today.”

Jose Lezcano (rider of fourth-place finisher Behavioral Bias)

“He broke very good. At the half-mile pole I asked him and he tried the whole way home, but I think he got intimidated the whole way too. He put a nice run in and ran pretty well. When he got inside, he just got intimidated by the other horses.”
